I code for a hobby - I enjoy the challenge, the creativity and learning something new. Some of the code may be useful to other people, so I make it freely available. A lot of my code is available on SourceForge and on BitBucket . I also contribute in a small way to StackOverflow .A list of free software by me:
- Tin Whistle Calculator: This Java application allows the user to calculate the location and size of holes on a tin whistle (irish whistle). It allows the user to define key and scale and can compensate for different tube sizes. I initially started the project because I wanted to see how the size of a tone-hole affected the layout, but there were no visualisation tools. The whistling community at Chiff & Fipple. seem to find it useful. (The sourcecode is here)
- Smuggler: This is a project that I started to demonstrate that 'Perfect Steganography' is almost achievable by embedding the hidden data in the DC coefficients of a jpg. SmugglerMac is a MacOS implementation of my ideas. There is an Android version of the code (both use the same ISO C code internally). I have initiated discussion of this topic on Cryptography Stack Exchange and intend to detail the implementation when I make the code open source.
